Eagles LB Nigel Bradham Charged With Assault After Punching Hotel Employee

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham turned himself in to Miami Police on Monday, two days before full training camp begins at the Novacare Complex in South Philly.

Bradham was charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, after striking a hotel employee in the face, according to the police report from Miami Beach Police Department.

The incident occurred Thursday at the Hilton Bentley South Beach Hotel in Miami, where Bradham and a group of friends were eating.

Bradham complained after he felt his table was not receiving the proper service.

“The victim & defendant were involved in a verbal altercation as a result of the victim’s speed of service that escalated when the defendant, without provocation, struck the victim in the nose with a closed fist, causing the victim to fall to the ground,” the police report stated. “Other members of the defendant’s group joined in the attack.”

After the altercation was over, Bradham and his group fled the scene.

NIGEL BRADHAM TALKS ABOUT ANKLE INJURY

The victim, who suffered a broken nose as a result of Bradham’s punch, identified the Philadelphia linebacker when shown photographs of potential suspects.

A witness also identified Bradham “without hesitation,” according to the police report.

“We are aware of the recent incident involving Nigel Bradham,” the Eagles said in a statement released Wednesday. “We have been in contact with Nigel and the proper authorities. Due to the ongoing legal process, the Eagles will have no further comment at this time.”

Bradham was brought to Philadelphia by new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, whom he had played for as DC for the Buffalo Bills, signing a two-year, $7 million contract in March.

The 6-foot-2, 241-pounder totaled 174 tackles in his four years in Buffalo, with 3.5 sacks. Bradham, 26, was drafted out of Florida State in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

In 2015, he played in 11 games, tallying 42 tackles and one sack.

Bradham’s first court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 2, which coincides with the Eagles first off-day from training camp.

The linebacker’s arrest is the second brush with the law for Philadelphia this offseason.

On the final day of mini-camp, second-year wide receiver Nelson Agholor was accused of sexual assault by a dancer from a Philadelphia gentlemen’s club.

Investigations by the district attorney’s office and police department yielded no charges for Agholor.

Both Bradham and Agholor are expected to attend the opening of Eagles training camp Wednesday.

Philadelphia’s new head coach, Doug Pederson said he does not plan to punish Bradham for the incident.

“What I want to do is get more information from South Florida,” Pederson said after practice Wednesday. “We’re not going to punish him. We’re going to have him come in here, let him practice.”
