Certain players have a way of performing against certain teams. For Dwyne Wade, the Brooklyn Nets are the team that brings out his best.
Wade scored 28 points on the night, with 10 of them coming down the stretch in the fourth quarter to give Miami their fifth straight win against Brooklyn 104-98; they have now beaten the Nets on 11 of their last 13 visits to New York.
“Dwyane had a real pep in his step. This is what he’s built his career on,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “He had the full pie chart going.”
“You never know,” Wade said. “Last game I got so many great shots in Atlanta and couldn’t knock them down. I told my teammates if I get those same shots versus Brooklyn, they’re going in.”

The Heat also received a strong effort from Hassan Whiteside, who chipped in 20 points and 13 rebounds. Goran Dragic also added 16 points, while Gerald Green and Justise Winslow scored 13 and 11 respectively.
“They are a veteran bunch. They stay the course,” Nets guard Jarrett Jack said of Miami. “We hit them in the mouth early, but they weathered the storm. They still have that championship pedigree in that locker room.”
