Dolphins & Ravens Quarterbacks Questionable For Week 13 Return

There are some questions for the Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens heading into week 13. The question involves the status of their quarterbacks and whether they will be playing.

Tua Tagovailoa has not played since he was benched by Miami during their November 22 loss to the Denver Broncos. That game saw Tagovailoa struggle to work the offense as he only managed to get 83 yards off 11 completed passes. It was speculated that perhaps his benching was because of an injury. However, Miami denied the claim, but then it was said that he had an injury to his left thumb. The young quarterback has since missed their week 12 win over the New York Jets.

He is now expected to be a game-time decision since he was seen in a limited practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He was seen throwing with a bandaged hand. As of right now, Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to start against their week 13 matchup against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals.

So far, Tagovailoa has completed 61% of his passes for a total of 593 yards, six touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Fitzpatrick has completed 68% of his passes for a total of 1,792 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

Lamar Jackson is currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive for coronavirus on Thanksgiving. He has since been quarantined and would be expected to finish his mandatory 10-day quarantine this weekend. This would mean that Jackson would be free to have one full practice day.

Ravens’ coach Jim Harbaugh was asked if Jackson would play in week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys, to which he said, “When the doctors clear them for practice, that’s when we’ll have them.”

Robert Griffin III has been filling as the starting quarterback with Jackson out. However, Griffin suffered a hamstring injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday in the fourth quarter. He was replaced with Trace McSorley. McSorley could start for week 13 if both Jackson and Griffin are sidelined.
