Soon after Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association agreed upon a 60-game season for 2020, the odds for the World Series were released by Caesars Sportsbook.
The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers are the odds on favorites to win the World Series in 2020 at 7-2 odds. They are followed by the Houston Astros at 11-1 odds. After that, the Atlanta Braves and Minnesota Twins at 15-1 odds. The reigning World Series champions, the Washington Nationals sit at 18-1 odds.
Being that the season will be 60-games, there is definitely a chance for some team that no one would have originally predicted to make a run. The senior odds maker at Caesars, Rex Beyers, spoke on this possibility with ESPN. “It would seem plausible to me that there will be money for some of the midrange to longer-shot teams that might field young lineups – think Toronto – or hot shot, young pitching that the league hasn’t seen much of yet.”
