Derek Fisher’s Five Lakers Championship Rings Reportedly Stolen From Home

Derek Fisher has literally been robbed of something very precious to him.

Derek Fisher’s Five Lakers Championship Rings Reportedly Stolen From Home

The 42-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers point guard is reportedly alleging that his five NBA championship rings were stolen from his L.A. home on Monday.

Fisher, a former New York Knicks head coach who is currently working as an analyst on local Lakers broadcasts, was not at home at the time and seemed to be unhurt.

TMZ was the first to report the news:

“Law enforcement sources tell us the NBA legend reported a burglary at his home Monday morning — telling police he left the home at 7:30 AM and when he returned 3 hours later, it was clear someone had been inside.
We’re told officials believe the perp got into the house through a side door — and went for his jewelry. Among the stolen goods was Fisher’s 5 NBA rings he won during his run with the Lakers. They’re each worth a ton of cash.
Our sources say other jewelry was taken as well.
The LAPD is currently investigating. So far, no arrests have been made.”

TMZ estimates the value of the stolen goods at $300,000.

Fisher’s five NBA titles with the Lakers came in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009 and 2010. He played with the team from 1996 -2004, and again from 2007-2012. He also played with the Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks.

Fisher began coaching the Knicks soon after retiring in 2014, compiling a 40-96 record before being fired by the team on Feb. 8, 2016.

Recently, Fisher drew headlines for his involvement in an embarrassing incident with one-year Lakers teammate and current Sacramento Kings star Matt Barnes. Barnes, who is reportedly due to turn himself into the New York Police Department on assault charges following his alleged role in a nightclub attack, stormed in on Fisher while he was living with Barnes’ ex-wife Debra Govan. Barnes allegedly became angry when he learned that Fisher was not only dating his ex-wife, but also living in the same house as Govan and Barnes’ children.
