Denver Nuggets V. Philadelphia 76s Game Preview (Feb. 8): Start Time, Channels, Players To Watch

On Friday night, the Denver Nuggets will take on the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center. The Nuggets are holding on to the second seed in the west with a 37-17 record. They’ve won eight of their last 11. They’re 1-2 in their last three games but were on a six-game win streak prior to that. They’ll hope to turn it around after a 135-130 Wednesday loss to the Nets in Brooklyn.

The Sixers are in decent shape currently. Philly is the fifth seed in a crowded eastern conference that just got deeper after deadline deals by them, the Toronto Raptors, and the Milwaukee Bucks. They’ve won seven of their last 11 games but are also on a two-game skid. On Tuesday, they fell to the Raptors 119-107 at home. Coach Brett Brown‘s main goal will be to make the team play together. They’ve already gone through one locker room defining trade for the chemistry issue named Jimmy Butler. Now, after work at the deadline, they’ll have to throw in Tobias Harris into the mix. It makes for a solid line up of Ben SimmonsJJ Redick, Butler, Harris, and Joel Embiid with four all-stars but it also raises the question of how do these guys fit together. On top of just trying to win on the court, the team also has to win over Butler and Harris, both in the last years of their deals.

Miles Plumlee put up 24 points on 10 of 12 shooting, Jamal Murray was good for 19 points with 11 assists while Monte Morris found a way to contribute 18 points and five assists off the bench. In Philly’s last game, Embiid dominated. He was good for 37 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks. Simmons added 20 points with six assists and Butler, who once led the team, had to only add 18 points and five assists. Also, this will be Harris’ first game with this squad. Currently, Philadelphia is favored -4.5. The game starts at 7:00 p.m.  EST.
