DeMarco Murray May Want to Return To Cowboys, But Cowboys Want No Part

Things have not been going well for Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray. After leading the NFL and breaking the Dallas Cowboys single-season franchise record last year with 1,845 rushing yards, it would be customary for the Cowboys to sign their star running back but ultimately did not. During the offseason, Murray was signed by the Eagles off free agency with a 5-year, $40 million contract with $22 million guaranteed. Since then, the running back has rushed for only 606 yards this season and it seems that there are trust issues between Murray and head coach Chip Kelly.

According to Albert Breer of NFL Media, Murray has been reported that he wants out of the Eagles and that he would like to go back to the Cowboys. In contrast, the Cowboys seem to not be interested in their old running back. According to an unnamed team source, the source says, “The guy is a pro in his preparation and toughness and competitiveness. But he’s also entitled, selfish and condescending. He’s a great ‘team’ guy when he’s the guy.” This says that Murray is a player that will loaf around if he is not given the ball or things do not go his way.

Last night against the Arizona Cardinals, Murray only had two carries for three yards in the third quarter before being pulled for the rest of the game. The Eagles will face off in a crucial division battle against the Washington Redskins on Saturday night.
