By now, everyone has heard of the infamous Deflate-gate. Tom Brady allegedly conspired with two locker room attendants to deflate the game balls well below the minimum air pressure level. This conspiracy has overstayed its welcome, yet is still raging on as Brady is appealing Roger Goodell’s decision to suspend him based on the Wells report.
While the world is waiting for the decision of that case — Brady should, at least, have the suspension reduced — more Deflate-gate news has come forward. But this time it is about a fan and his willingness to depart with one of the game balls, as he is currently attempting to sell one of them for $25,000.
On Lelands, one of the famous footballs will be auctioned by Matthew and Laura Nichols. The couple obtained the ball after LeGarrette Blount scored a touchdown in the third quarter – directly after, Brandon LaFell took the pigskin and handed it to them.
On the auction page, there is a notarized letter explaining how the couple obtained the item, a picture of them from the game, a photo of the football and a copy of their tickets.

Now, though $25,000 sounds too much for a ball from one of the dumbest controversies in sports history, Joshua Evans, founder of Lelands, feels that the product could fetch six figures. “This is a ‘wow’ type of collectible,” Evans told ESPN’s Darren Rovell. “This is one of the best conversation pieces that has ever been sold… I could see this ball getting six figures.”
Tom Brady’s appeal will be heard on June 23. Hopefully, when that is over, this ordeal will finally drift into obscurity. As for the football, it will be on the auction block until July 17.
