Davante Adams Expected To Be Out For Weeks With Hamstring Injury

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams will miss a few weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the team’s Week 6 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Adams is expected to miss six to 10 weeks, head coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Adams is expected to undergo a procedure on his hamstring tendon, and there is hope he returns around the team’s bye week or shortly after. The Rams’ bye week falls on Week 11.

Adams has had another standout season so far for the Rams; he has 30 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns. He has a 16.0 yards-per-reception average, the best in his career.

Injuries have been a common theme for the Rams this season, with defensive tackle Poona Ford and newly acquired kicker Blake Grupe out for the season. Defensive tackle Kobie Turner is now on injured reserve and will miss at least four weeks.

Myles Garrett is on IR after knee surgery following the team’s Week 1 loss in Australia; he has not yet been cleared to practice.

“The first thing is you feel terrible for these guys,” McVay said. “Those guys are key contributors for us, so there’s a lot of emotion. But the first thing is support these guys, be there for them, and then the next thing is make sure that we figure out what’s the best way for our team to be able to move forward in the absence of some critical factors for us.”

The Rams find themselves in a tough spot with a large number of injuries; they are now at the bottom of the NFC West after losing to Arizona.

Before the season, the Rams were seen as Super Bowl favorites, but now they are behind the 2-4 Cardinals due to tiebreakers and are looking up at the 3-3 Seahawks and unbeaten 6-0 49ers.

“We’ve taken some shots this year, and we’ve got to be able to get up and keep swinging,” McVay said. “This is a good test.”
