On Sunday, Coastal Carolina announced that quarterback Grayson McCall has been released from the hospital following a scary hit he faced during Saturday’s game against Arkansas State.
McCall was injured in the fourth quarter during their 27-17 win when he was sliding and collided with defensive back Trevian Thomas in the head. He was later carted off and gave a sign while leaving.

Coastal Carolina later posted an update on Twitter.
“As a precautionary measure, Grayson was transported to a local medical facility for evaluation and observation last night. He was alert and conscious with movement in all extremities,” the statement read. “Grayson has been released and is heading back to Conway. He is in excellent spirits and the results of his scans have been very positive.”
He was replaced by Joshua Guest for the rest of the game.
