Well it seems in the midst of constant controversy, the Cleveland Browns has decided to add an NFL investigation onto its impressive resume of 2015 offseason stumbles. At least the Browns can stay consistent at something other than missing the playoffs.
In what has now been dubbed ‘Text-Gate’ — seriously that is best name the media could come up with — general manager Ray Farmer is in hot water for allegedly texting coaches during a game: something that is highly illegal because it supposedly creates a competitive advantage.
Now, the actual severity of the sanctions is unknown, but it could lead to a fine, loss of a draft pick and even the suspension of the GM, a person who just openly criticized Josh Gordon for his immature actions.

As for the actual texting, it allegedly happened during multiple games and were mostly directed at QB coach Dowell Loggains. According to Cleveland.com, some of these texts, which were about play calling and QB play, were the reason offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan left the dysfunction for Atlanta.
According to ESPN, “from the outside, it seems the texts could be summed up this way: Why isn’t Johnny Manziel playing?” Still more drama, especially after Gordon and Manziel cannot be a good thing for a team who has not been in the playoffs for 12 consecutive seasons and have not won a postseason game in 17 years — not counting their dormant years.
The league, which loves to take their time with impending investigations, will determine their verdict in anywhere from one to three weeks.
