The Kansas City Chiefs outlasted the Los Angeles Chargers, 34-28, in overtime Thursday night at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium to balloon their winning streak to seven games.
Chiefs (10-4) tight end Travis Kelce hauled in the game-winning, 38-yard touchdown pass from Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes about a minute into overtime, and that was all she wrote.
Kelce finished with 10 catches for 191 yards and two touchdowns, while teammate Tyreek Hill tallied 148 yards and a score on 12 grabs.
Mahomes finished 31-for-47 for 410 yards, three touchdowns, and a costly interception. He did finish strong, though, with scoring passes on each of the final three drives for KC, which opened up a two-game lead in the AFC West and became the first AFC team to 10 wins.

With about two and a half minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, L.A. quarterback Justin Herbert led his team on a 13-play, 75-yard drive capped off by a Keenan Allen TD grab to make it 28-21 in the Chargers’ favor.
However, Mahomes answered with a 10-play, 75-yard drive of his own that lasted just 1:03 to knot things up. Each team had more more possession before OT.
Herbert finished 22-of-38 for 236 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
The Chargers (8-6) squandered opportunities throughout the game; inside the KC 5-yard-line, they were stopped twice on fourth down and fumbled on another possession. The team finished 2-for-5 on fourth-down attempts.
