Chiefs Don’t Miss A Beat Against Texans In 34-20 Victory

The prevailing wisdom heading into the 2020 NFL season was that due to limited practice times and no preseason games that teams which had continuity would be able to come out of the game fast because they had a higher sense of familiarity. In the season opener, that narrative played out with the Super Bowl champions, who are returning 20 of 22 starters, the Kansas City Chiefs playing their usual brand of fantastic offensive football in a 34-20 victory over the Houston Texans.

Best betting moment

After failing to get into the endzone with less than two minutes left in the game, the Chiefs who were up 31-20 settled for a field goal to get to the final score. This would seem like an insignificant moment to the uninformed fan but what they may not have known is the betting over-under was 54 points. for those who bet the over, they must have been screaming at their televisions watching breakout rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire get stuffed at the one-yard line three plays in a row. For those who bet the over, they were either disappointed with a push or devastated if they bet the over on sites where the over-under was 54.5.

Biggest fantasy wrinkle

Edwards-Helaire was a highly touted fantasy prospect despite being a rookie because of his versatility, speed and the fact that he is on the Chiefs. So far that narrative has played out with Edwards-Helaire rushing for 138 yards and one touchdown. The ball will get spread around in that offense, but there likely will be enough points to go around. The best example is tight end Travis Kelce having a killer first half, catching six passes and one touchdown, and then not seeing nearly the same production in the second half, flip-flopping with receiver Tyreek Hill. While it will be difficult to guess which player it will be, it may not be a bad idea to ride with the Chiefs offense for your fantasy team.
