Chargers DT Corey Liuget sues trainer over PEDs injection (Wikipedia Commons. Author: Jeffrey Beall)
Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Corey Liuget is suing his former trainer for $15 million in damages due to lost wages, pain, and suffering caused by his positive test for performance-enhancing drugs. A document filed in U.S. District Court in California on Tuesday revealed this. As a result, Liuget is serving a four-game suspension from the NFL.
Ian Danney, former Canadian Olympic bobsledder and founder of Performance Enhancing Professionals, is named in the suit by Liuget. The Chargers tackle claims Danney is responsible for injecting him with the banned substances.
The 18-page document claims Danney told Liuget he was using a high dose of an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory to treat Liuget following a Chargers game last season. Liuget had previously broken metatarsals in both feet.

Liuget then took a drug test which came back positive. According to TMZ, Liuget confronted Danney, who admitted to giving him prescription medication but not a banned substance.
The suit alleges that injections of both took place in California. Danney doesn’t have a medical license for any kind of therapy there. Liuget says that because of Danney he failed an NFL-administered drug test for the first time in his seven-year career.
