Celtics’ Marcus Smart & Jaylen Brown Have Locker Room Shouting Match After Game 2 Loss To Miami

After the Boston Celtics 106-101 game two loss to the Miami Heat, Gary Washburn reported that a shouting match broke out in the locker room between Celtics guards’ Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown where it even sounded like objects were being thrown in the locker room.

Later, it was reported that Celtics coach Brad Stevens held a late-night meeting with his starters to clear the air and try to get the team back on track as they are now attempting to fight back from a tough 2-0 deficit.

This does not bode well for a team that has had trouble with mental toughness so far in the playoffs, blowing two double-digit leads to the Heat two games in a row. They are by no means out of the series, losing both games by a combined eight points, but a team that hinges on great communication and ball movement suffers from chemistry issues and bad feeling more than the average team.

Smart declined to speak to the media after the game and the players who did, remained silent on the subject, trying to keep things in-house. If they want a chance to win they are going to have to get over this quickly and figure out some game-adjustments on the fly with game three being played on Saturday night,
