Jaylen Brown head injury news

Brown leaped for a dunk late in the third quarter and hung on to the rim for a second too long, which caused him to land on his neck and head. Though a  stretcher was brought out for precaution, he ultimately walked off on his own.

The 21-year-old did not return and was evaluated for concussion-like symptoms. The Celtics won 117-109, although they were still concerned over Brown’s status by the end of the night.

Kyrie Irving returned from a one-game absence to finish with 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists on Thursday and help the Celtics clinch a playoff berth. Horford added 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Boston (46-20) is second in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics next host Indiana on Sunday night.
