The trade rumors surrounding Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant continue to swirl as more teams try to get their hands on the future Hall of Famer. Many teams have offered mammoth-like packages to the Nets in hopes of acquiring Durant, however, none seemed to be adequate enough for the Nets or Durant’s liking.
However, this weekend, the Boston Celtics emerged as a leading destination for the 34-year-old. Reportedly, the Celtics are willing to offer Jaylen Brown in a potential deal to acquire Durant, which puts them in from of a lot of teams who have put out offers for the 12-time All-Star.
The Nets have been adamant about their the desired return for Durant. This potentially includes multiple unprotected first-round picks, pick swaps and high-impact players. Durant’s initial trade destinations included the Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat. The Suns were not willing to offer Devin Booker in a potential trade and soon signed the 26-year-old to a supermax extension, which quickly removed Phoenix as a potential destination.
Durant apparently would only accept a potential Miami move if Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo were still on the roster, making any package that the Nets would be offered essentially unattractive. The Nets, however, are remaining patient in a potential deal due to the fact that Durant still has four years and $198 million left on his contract.
