Cavs Forward Kevin Love Ruled Out For Game 3 With Concussion

Trailing the defending world champion Golden State Warriors, 2-0, in the NBA Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers will be without a key cog in the team’s big three: Big Love.

Cavs Forward Kevin Love Ruled Out For Game 3 With Concussion

Kevin Love was told he will sit tonight’s Game 3 matchup in Cleveland, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein, after suffering a concussion as a result of an elbow to the head from Warriors forward Harrison Barnes with 5:14 remaining in the second quarter of Game 2 out in Oakland.

Stein, quoting a source, said Love is “really frustrated” that he will not be back on the court Wednesday to help his team chip away at the Dubs 2-0 series lead.

The 6-foot-11, stretch-four, did participate in Wednesday morning’s shootaround at Quicken Loans Arena, but team officials told Love that the earliest he could get back on the floor in a game would be Game 4 on Friday night in Cleveland.

Cleveland was having enough trouble trying to contain the clown car of talent that has become the Warriors backcourt.

Through the first two games, backup guards Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa are shooting 81% from the floor (21-of-26), while reigning MVP Steph Curry and ‘splash brother’ Klay Thompson have combined to average just 27.5 points per game.

If Curry and Thompson make a splash tonight in Game 3, it’s sayonara for Lebron James and the Cavs.
