The Baltimore Ravens will be looking for a new coach for the first time since 2008.

The Ravens fired John Harbaugh on January 6 after 18 seasons with the team. This comes just days after the Ravens’ heartbreaking loss on Sunday Night Football.

Harbaugh was hired in 2008 after a 5-11 season. He led the Ravens to a complete turnaround in 2008, posting an 11-5 record. The Ravens didn’t make too many changes outside of their head coach. One move they made was signing Pro Bowl special teams player Brendon Ayanbadejo.

Harbaugh made the playoffs each of his first five seasons with the Ravens. This all culminated in a Super Bowl championship in the 2012 season. Harbaugh was able to squeeze just enough out of an aging roster. The Ravens’ 2012 run is widely regarded as one of the most impressive in Super Bowl history.

The Ravens stagnated a bit after the Super Bowl, making the playoffs just one time from 2013 to 2017. However, the Ravens never lost trust in Harbaugh.

The 2018 draft changed everything. The Ravens selected Lamar Jackson with the 32nd pick. Harbaugh now had an elite quarterback to pair with his defensive coaching skills. He won the Coach of the Year award in 2019 with a 14-2 record.

Despite missing the playoffs only twice in the Jackson era, it was also marked by a lack of playoff success. Ravens fans debated who was to blame, but ultimately, the front office decided it was Harbaugh’s time to go.

The Ravens are likely to look internally to find their next head coach. Special teams coordinator Chris Horton and offensive coordinator Todd Monken are very likely candidates. As for Harbaugh, any team with a coaching opening will likely want to interview him. Harbaugh may not want to join a rebuild, so he could wait until after the playoffs to see if any playoff teams fire their coaches.

He may not need to wait that long. In the 24 hours after the news broke, Harbaugh reportedly had calls from seven NFL teams.

A blowout win over Orlando came with a loud side story Monday night: Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr and Draymond Green got into a heated sideline argument that ended with Green leaving the bench and never returning to the game.

>SLIDESHOW: MOST INFAMOUS SPORTS MUGSHOTS & THE STORIES BEHIND THEM!

The flare-up happened early in the third quarter at Chase Center with Golden State down 71–66. After Green committed a turnover, and continued to chat with an official. Kerr called a timeout and tried to pull his team into the huddle, later saying he felt the group had lost its focus. Instead, the timeout turned tense. Teammates and staff, which included Moses Moody and assistant coach Jerry Stackhouse, stepped in as Kerr and Green exchanged words. Later, Green walked off toward the locker room.

Both sides framed it as a moment that needed a pressure release, not a bigger fracture. Green said, “tempers spilled over, and he chose to remove himself because he didn’t think the situation would improve in the moment.”

Kerr confirmed Green wouldn’t have re-entered even after he returned to the bench in warmups before the fourth quarter.

The Warriors responded on the court. Stephen Curry ignited a third-quarter swing with a perfect shooting stretch, and Golden State turned the five-point deficit into a comfortable lead before cruising to a 120–97 victory. Curry finished with 26 points, and Jimmy Butler added 21 as the Warriors climbed back to .5 at 15–15.

The incident also added to a recent pattern: Green had been ejected in the previous game and, for a second straight night, wasn’t part of the closing minutes. After the final buzzer, the message from the locker room was essentially We’ve been here before.

With the game tied and seconds winding down, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James‘ streak of 1,297 consecutive games of double-digit points hanged in the balance.

The veteran forward tallied eight points against the Toronto Raptors, but had a chance to win the game – and keep his streak alive – in the final seconds as the Lakers held the final possession.

But like many times in his career, James made the right play at the right time.

Sacrificing his streak, he dished the ball wide to set up Rui Hachimura‘s 3-point buzzer beater to defeat the Raptors on Thursday night, 123-120.

James didn’t seem bothered when asked about his feelings after his run ended, which began in early 2007.

“None. We won,” he said.

“Just playing the game the right way. You always make the right play. That’s just been my M.O. That’s how I was taught the game. I’ve done that my whole career.”

The Lakers led by as many as 13 points. They held a nine-point advantage going into halftime, but the Raptors made adjustments and clawed their way back into the contest.

Austin Reaves led the Lakers with 44 points, half of those coming in the third quarter. Each team traded leads in the second half which ultimately came down to the final play of the match.

With James having space through the center, he could have gone for the game-winning jump shot from midrange. But he picked out an open Hachimura in the corner, who drilled a 3-pointer with no time remaining.

“Once they doubled AR [Reaves] and the ball got swung to me, I know it’s a numbers game,” James said. “We got a four-on-three advantage and were just trying to put the ball on time, on target, in Rui’s socket, in his shot pocket, and he knocked it down.”

The win was the Lakers’ eighth in their last nine games as they remain in the top three of the Western Conference.

James and point guard Luka Doncic missed the following game against the Boston Celtics, where the team lost 126-105 the next day.

The Lakers conclude their three-game away trip against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night. On Wednesday, JJ Redick‘s side faces the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Cup quarterfinals.

Boston Celtics small forward Jordan Walsh struggled to make an impact in the opening weeks of the season.

The 2023 second-round pick played less than five minutes in his first three games this year. He didn’t even appear in four of the Celtics’ opening eight matches of the campaign and tallied just 24 minutes. And still, most of those minutes came when games were long settled.

But after a game against the Washington Wizards on Nov. 5, where the forward logged seven points and seven rebounds, Walsh has played 15 or more minutes in all but one game since that moment.

He continued his strong form for the Celtics on Friday night, this time putting up 17 points and four rebounds in the team’s 126-105 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. The previous night, Walsh posted a season-high 22 points in a 146-101 win against the Wizards.

His performance on Friday caught the eye of Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves.

“He just plays hard as crap every single possession,” Reaves said after the game in which he put up 36 points. “He doesn’t take a possession off. His ability, his length, his athleticism, he’s physically gifted, [he] moves really well. I can see him being one of the best defenders in the league for many years to come.”

Despite the recent praise, guard Jaylen Brown wants Walsh — and the media — to stay focused and not hype him too much.

“I don’t want to boost his head up too much,” Brown said. “I don’t want him to start getting cute. You gotta still take care of the details. But he’s been doing a good job.”

The Celtics move to fifth place in the Eastern Conference following four straight wins. They travel to Canada on Sunday to face the Toronto Raptors.

Despite entering the 2025 season as one of the favorites to compete in the NFC, the Detroit Lions currently sit on the wrong side of the playoff line with five games remaining.

The team lost for the third time in November, dropping a home game to division rivals, the Green Bay Packers, 31-24.

The loss puts the Lions third in the NFC North, two games behind the Chicago Bears. After the weekend, Detroit sits below the playoff line with a 7-5 record. On Monday, ESPN gave the Lions a 44% chance of making the postseason.

Head coach Dan Campbell is aware of the team’s recent slump but remains determined to make a final push into the playoffs.

“We dug ourselves a little bit of a hole,” he said after Thursday’s loss. “That’s the bottom line. We are in a little bit of a hole. But that’s just what it is. There’s nothing more than that. So all we got to do is worry about cleaning up this and then getting to the next game and finding a way to win the next one in front of us.”

Under Campbell, the Lions won back-to-back NFC North titles in 2023 and 2024. Last season, the team finished with its best regular-season record (15-2) in franchise history but lost in the Divisional round against the Washington Commanders.

The Lions’ next game is a home clash with the hot Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.

It’s been an uncharacteristic season for the Kansas City Chiefs, who are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

Their postseason chances took another hit on Thanksgiving after a 31-28 loss against the Dallas Cowboys, putting Andy Reid‘s side 6-6 with five games remaining.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw four touchdowns during the loss, says the equation is simple if the Chiefs want to make the playoffs: win.

“You’ve got to win every game now and hope that’s enough,” Mahomes said after the game.

Thursday’s defeat was the Chiefs’ sixth one-score loss this season. It’s a stark contrast to their 2024 record, where the team went 11-0 in those situations.

Kansas City started the game on the front foot, racing to a 14-7 lead in the first quarter after touchdowns from wide receiver Rashee Rice and tight end Travis Kelce. However, the Cowboys responded by scoring 13 unanswered points through the following two quarters.

The Chiefs retook the lead early in the fourth quarter from another touchdown by Rice. But Dallas responded again by scoring a touchdown and field goal, putting the game out of reach for Reid’s side.

After reaching at least the AFC Championship in the past seven seasons, the Chiefs are currently on the outside looking in as of Sunday. Their remaining games are all against AFC opponents, including matches against division rivals Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders.

“We’re going to play a lot of good football teams coming up,” Mahomes said. “If we’re going to make the playoffs, we’re going to have to win them all. That’s got to be the mindset when we step into the building when we get back.”

Davis Mills had not started an NFL game in a while heading into the 2025 season. Two full seasons to be exact.

After being drafted by the Houston Texans in 2021, Mills started the majority of matches for the following two seasons. In 2023, the team named him the backup quarterback to first-round pick C.J. Stroud.

But earlier this month, Mills got his chance when he started in a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. And he hasn’t stopped since.

Mills started his third straight game on Thursday as he led the Texans to a third consecutive victory, defeating the Buffalo Bills 23-19 to keep the team’s playoff hopes alive.

The 27-year-old completed 53.3% of his passes during the win. He also threw 153 passing yards and recorded two touchdowns.

Mills is filling in for Stroud, who suffered a concussion in a loss against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 2. But despite his 3-0 record as a starter, Mills is aware of his place on the team.

“C.J.’s the starter for this team,” he said after Thursday’s win. “I’m just doing everything I can to bring my best foot forward every day, make everyone else around me better and try to provide and play my role to my best ability when I get thrown in there.”

The Texans will face the Indianapolis Colts next Sunday with a chance to close the gap on the AFC South leaders.

The Los Angeles Lakers fired team executives Joey and Jesse Buss with immediate effect, ESPN reported on Thursday.

Joey Buss worked as an alternate governor and vice president of research and development. Jesse Buss’ position was assistant general manager. The brothers both worked with the Lakers organization throughout the past decade.

“We are extremely honored to have been part of this organization for the last 20 seasons,” the brothers said to ESPN. “Thank you to Laker Nation for embracing our family every step of the way. We wish things could be different with the way our time ended with the team. At times like this, we wish we could ask our Dad what he would think about it all.”

Jesse and Joey’s firings came a month after the NBA Board of Governors approved Mark Walter‘s purchase of a majority stake in the franchise, valued at $10 billion. Walter is also the owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have won three World Series championships in the past six seasons.

Jesse and Joey’s father, Jerry Buss, bought the Lakers in 1979. During his reign as owner, the team won 10 NBA titles and featured talent such as Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. When Jerry died in 2013, his daughter Jeanie Buss took over and is currently the team’s primary team governor.

The firings also signal movement in the front office and scouting positions following the change in ownership.

The Lakers, who sit third in the Western Conference with an 11-4 record, visit the Utah Jazz on Sunday night.

Patrick Mahomes didn’t point fingers after yet another tight loss. Instead, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback put the spotlight squarely on himself as Kansas City’s season drifted closer to the brink.

The Chiefs fell 22–19 to the Denver Broncos on Sunday in Denver, dropping to 5–5 and continuing a baffling trend: they are now 0–5 in one-score games this year after going unbeaten in such contests a season ago.

Mahomes finished with 276 passing yards, one touchdown to Travis Kelce and one costly interception, as Denver’s defense, led by breakout corner Ja’Quan McMillian, repeatedly disrupted the rhythm that once made Kansas City’s offense feel inevitable. McMillian logged a red-zone pick and multiple sacks, flipping key possessions and helping set up points for Denver.

Afterward, Mahomes sounded more like a coach than a reigning superstar, stressing that Kansas City’s biggest issue isn’t talent but reliability from series to series. He said the Chiefs “haven’t been consistent enough to win games” and insisted that fixing that “starts with me,” citing missed throws and protection checks that stalled drives.

On the other side, quarterback Bo Nix continued Denver’s surge, steering an eight-game winning streak and a 9–2 record. He calmly marched the Broncos into range for Wil Lutz’s fifth field goal of the afternoon, a 35-yarder as time expired that gave Denver firm control of the AFC West.

For Kansas City, the loss is about more than one bad throw. The Chiefs now sit outside the AFC playoff field and are in real danger of missing the postseason for the first time since 2014, an unthinkable scenario when the year began with talk of more Super Bowl runs.

Mahomes, however, isn’t sounding any alarms. He framed the frustration as fuel; he said, “all they can do is treat every week as a new chance to prove themselves,” and finally closed out the tight games that used to define their dominance.

Not many people could’ve predicted how Tez Johnson would perform in his debut NFL season.

Even team scouts had some doubts about the Oregon receiver at this year’s NFL combine. Weighing in at 154 pounds, he made him the lightest participant at the event.

Tez Johnson News

However, it seems the seventh-round gamble made by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is paying off 10 games into the season.

Johnson has already tallied 255 total receiving yards and four touchdowns in nine games played this season. In last Sunday’s 28-23 defeat against the New England Patriots, the receiver caught two touchdowns and logged 42 receiving yards.

Though he didn’t put up the same type of performance in the Bucs’ recent loss to the Buffalo Bills, Johnson is continuing to prove his worth and justify the team’s seventh-round pick in the draft.

Tampa Bay remains at the summit of the NFC South and will return home next Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye continues to push for the NFL MVP after another impressive performance, this time in a 27-14 win on Thursday night against the New York Jets.

Maye extended his streak of notching over 200 passing yards in every game this season by tallying 281 and a completion rate of 73.5% against the Jets. The Patriots secured their eighth straight victory to keep Mike Vrabel‘s side top of the AFC East division.

The home crowd started to chant “MVP” as the team secured its fourth straight home win.

“I thought those fans were awesome,” Maye said in his postgame press conference. “I think it was pretty sweet for the prime time game, here for my first one at home, pretty sweet.”

This season, Maye has completed 20 passing touchdowns and is averaging a 71.9% completion rate. He also became the fourth NFL quarterback during the last 20 years to win eight straight games while scoring 20 points or more each game in his first or second season.

The Patriots are having quite the turnaround in 2025. The team went 4-13 in each of the last two seasons, but in Vrabel’s first year in Foxborough, the Patriots are making a case as legit title contenders.

“I would say (Maye’s) performance, in general, has been what we expect,” Vrabel said after the win. “We have high expectations for Drake. He has high expectations for himself.”

Maye and the Patriots return to the field next Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Aaron Judge won the 2025 American League MVP on Thursday, adding another accolade to his MLB career.

The New York Yankees outfielder edged catcher Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners in the vote, who also had a stellar season in the Pacific Northwest with 60 home runs. Judge becomes the 13th player to win three or more MVPs after winning his third in the last four seasons.

“It’s a lot of responsibility playing in New York, but that’s what I love,” Judge said to MLB Network. “When I was a free agent, I came back to New York. I wanted to play in the city, play for these fans, play with these high expectations.”

The 33-year-old hit 53 home runs in 2025, which was the third time in his last four season he recorded over 50 homers. Judge also recorded over 100 RBI’s for the fourth time in his career.

“I know I say this often meeting with our media throughout the season, but I don’t ever want to become desensitized by the consistency and the enormity of his accomplishments,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said in a statement. “It’s becoming increasingly difficult for me to use words to capture how good he is. He’s just playing at a higher level, and has been for quite some time.

“It has been an absolute privilege to watch Aaron’s ascension. He’s already fashioned a career that matches up with the all-time greats. I see it every single day – and I think it’s critical to acknowledge the work that Aaron puts in to maintain this inconceivable level of excellence as a player.”

Judge’s performances led the Yankees to a 94-68 record, only missing out on the AL East crown to the Toronto Blue Jays. The team also lost in the ALDS to the Canadian ball club.

2025 marked Judge’s 10th straight season at Yankee Stadium, where he continues to write his name in baseball history.

A.J. Brown didn’t hold back when discussing his offensive performances.

The Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver was streaming while playing Madden 26 this week and expressed some thoughts on his current situation.

“Family’s good. Everything else? No. It’s a s— show,” Brown said. “You on some, ‘How you been?’ I’ve been struggling, brother.”

Brown made just two receptions from three in the Eagles’ 10-7 victory against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. The 28-year-old has struggled to make an impact this season, recording 31 receptions and three touchdowns in eight games since Week 1.

Brown also made headlines in September when he posted a Bible verse on social media, reading, “If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.” This came after notching just two receptions against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brown spoke to the media on Wednesday and said he will not apologize for the incident.

“Because like I said, if you got eyes, you could see that,” he said. “Shoot, that’s me trying to like laugh through my situation.”

Reporters also asked Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni about the comments in a Wednesday interview, where he still backs his wide receiver amid the frustration.

“We’re going to continue to try to get better on offense, and we played a great game on defense,” Sirianni said. “We are in tune to what’s going on here and the relationships that we have in here, and the process that we have in here, and A.J. is all-in.”

The Eagles will host the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football in a NFC heavyweight clash.

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Luka Doncic spoke on the recent firing of former Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison, the person who traded the superstar to the Lakers in February.

Doncic, who was asked about Harrison’s firing after the team’s 121-92 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, preferred not to address the situation directly and declined to speak on a possible return to Dallas.

“Right now, I’m just focused on the Lakers,” Doncic said. “No further comments.”

On the first night of February, Harrison shocked the basketball world when the Mavericks traded Doncic in exchange for power forward Anthony Davis in a three-way deal. The move drew criticism and pressure mounted on Harrison, with fans routinely chanting “Fire Nico” at home games.

The Mavericks’ season collapsed: Davis suffered an adductor injury in his first appearance for the team while Kyrie Irving tore his ACL. Dallas slid to 10th in the Western Conference and missed the playoffs after making the finals the year prior.

Nine months after the trade, the Mavericks fired Harrison after starting the season 3-8 and months of fan discontent.

Doncic, meanwhile, is continuing to make a name for himself in Southern California. He’s averaging 34.9 points per game this season while also averaging 9.1 rebounds and 8.9 assists. The Lakers finished third in the West last season and currently sit fifth with a 8-4 record.

Despite leaving the Lone Star State, Doncic said he still holds the Mavericks close to his heart.

“I thought I was going to stay there forever, but I didn’t,” Doncic said. “So that will always be a special place for me. I will always call it home. But right now, I’m focused on the Lakers and trying to move on. But obviously, always there will be a part of me there.”

Harrison became general manager of the Mavericks at the start of the 2021-22 season. During his tenure, Dallas made two trips to the Western Conference Final and one trip to the NBA Finals, eventually losing to the Boston Celtics in 2024.

During an episode of College Gameday, retired Alabama coach Nick Saban talked about Julian Sayin.

It all started back in 2022, when Sayin committed to the University of Alabama. He was a five-star-plus recruit.

Sayin signed a letter of intent in December 2023.

Sayin began practicing with the Crimson Tide, but then he entered the transfer portal.

Sayin transferred to Ohio State University in January 2024 following Saban’s retirement.

At the time, Saban did not realize how good Sayin would become.

“I think one point I’d like to make about Julian Sayin is he was at Alabama,” Saban said. “And the coach at Alabama played him on the scout team for a whole year. What a dumbass.”

In the 2025 season, Sayin has scored 23 touchdowns in the past five games he has started. He also has 2,188 yards with an 80% completion percentage.

Sayin is now in the Heisman Trophy discussion as Ohio State’s starting quarterback.

Infielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tommy Edman, has opened up about the possibility of having ankle surgery during the offseason.

Edman has not had a chance to take a break since the Dodgers were in the postseason and then in the World Series.

Throughout this 2025 season, Edman has appeared in 97 games out of the 162 games in the last season, and he also appeared in 16 games of the postseason.

Edman did not play several times throughout the season because of injuries and because manager Dave Roberts wanted to avoid further injuries.

During an interview, Edman discussed his feelings about his right ankle injury and what was next for him.

“We’ll probably evaluate that after the season’s over. For now, I think just playing the rest of the games of the World Series will be totally fine,” Edman said.

Edman’s injury occurred last season, when he was still with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Since Edman was traded, he did not have time for the injury to be properly diagnosed.

Now that the Dodgers have won the World Series, it is a matter of time to see what the medical staff decides to do with this ankle injury.

Just a week ago, the Detroit Lions announced that they signed edge rusher Aiden Hutchinson to a four-year, $180 million contract extension.

The deal included a $141 million guaranteed, the largest guarantee ever awarded to a non-quarterback in NFL history. Hutchinson’s average annual salary of $45 million ranks second only to Micah Parsons among non-quarterbacks.

At 25 years old, Hutchinson has already established himself as a cornerstone of Detroit’s defense. As a former No. 2 overall draft pick in 2022, he overcame a fractured tibia and fibula in Week 6 of 2024 to return to high-level play this season. Through seven games in 2025, he has registered six sacks and four fumbles, while ranking among the league in quarterback pressures.

Coach Dan Campbell praised Hutchinson’s all-around impact, noting his ability to set the edge in the run game, disrupt the quarterback, and even drop into coverage when asked. “Complete! Fired up to have him long term!” Campbell wrote in a text shared by the media.

The contract extension aligns with Detroit’s broader strategy to draft and retain home-grown talent under general manager Brad Holmes. In recent seasons, players such as quarterback Jared Goff, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and offensive tackle Penei Sewell also secured long-term deals.

In Week 9, Hutchinson was flagged for unnecessary roughness for a “leg whip” in an attempt to bring down the Vikings’ J.J. McCarthy, which usually carries a $17,000 fine. After reviewing the incident, the league decided not to fine Hutchinson.

Florida freshman center Olivier Rioux made history on Thursday by becoming the tallest person to ever play college basketball in the Gators’ 104-64 win against North Florida.

The 7-foot-9 center checked into the game with just over two minutes remaining. Rioux made history as the crowd chanted “We want Ollie” in the buildup.

“It felt great,” Rioux said following Florida’s win. “The support from everybody was amazing, even on the bench and even the fans. I think everyone supported me. I’m very grateful.”

Born in Canada, Rioux played basketball at IMG Academy before joining the Gators in 2024. He became redshirted after not making an appearance for the 2024-25 season. Rioux also represented Canada at the youth level, helping his country win two bronze medals at the U16 and U18 levels.

The center’s debut on Thursday surpassed Kenny George and Mike Lanier‘s record as the tallest players to play college basketball, both of whom at 7-foot-7.

Florida coach Todd Golden knew he was going to put Rioux into the game when the Gators held a 24 point advantage by halftime. With fans demanding his appearance, and the team extending its lead to 41 points with about two minutes left, Golden decided to call his name.

“Obviously, the game was in our control, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to get him out there and get his first college experience,” Golden said. “I think he was pretty excited. It was pretty neat for him to finally see the floor.”

Florida’s next game will be against in-state rivals Florida State on Tuesday at the O’Connell Center.

Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle got creative in dealing with the punishment handed by the NFL.

The league fined the running back a reported $14,491 for his “two-pump” celebration after scoring a touchdown in Sunday’s 16-13 road win against the Green Bay Packers. The celebration was a reference to a 2013 Key & Peele comedy sketch.

Since the NFL bans any celebrations of a sexual nature, the gesture resulted in the Panthers being penalized with a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Dowdle posted about his fine on Wednesday on his X account and said he was going to start a GoFundMe page. However, what started out as a joke, Dowdle will be using the fundraiser for a charity donation.

“Actually, 100% of what is raised through this fundraiser will be sent to Children’s Home Society of North Carolina,” Dowdle wrote on the GoFundMe page. “Children’s Home Society promotes the right of every child to a permanent, safe, and loving family. They specialize in education and prevention programs, family preservation, and adoption and foster care. Let’s raise some money.”

As of Thursday afternoon, over $18,000 has been raised and is nearing the $20,000 target amount.

The Seattle Seahawks crushed the Washington Commanders 38-14 on Sunday night, led by a near-perfect performance from quarterback Sam Darnold. By halftime, Darnold had completed all 16 of his passes for four touchdowns. He was unaware that he had a flawless first half until someone mentioned it, which broke the no-hitter superstition of football.

He finished with 21-of-24 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Before he was pulled late in the fourth quarter, his total QBR of 97.8 or higher was the best of his eight-year NFL career. This was also his third game of the season with a QBR of 97 or higher, tying a record held by Tom Brady, Tony Romo and Lamar Jackson.

Coach Mike Macdonald praised Darnold’s sharp decision-making and consistency, and credited his execution and the offensive line’s protection. Despite missing a couple of his passes, Darnold threw touchdowns on Seattle’s first four drives – two were to rookie Tory Horton, one to tight end Elijah Arroyo, and another to veteran Cody White.

Wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued his breakout season with 129 yards on eight catches, extending his NFL lead in receiving yards.

This victory improved Seattle’s record to 6-2 and a perfect 4-0 on the road. Darnold’s MVP odds jumped from 60-to-1 to 18-to-1 after the game, as the Seahawks remain one of the NFC’s most consistent teams.

The only downside was injuries to linebacker Ernest Jones IV, who suffered a knee injury, and cornerback Josh Jobe, who sustained a concussion; however, Jones’ injury is reportedly not season-ending.
