Sam Bradford aggravated his knee during the first half of the Minnesota Vikings‘ 20-17 road victory over the Chicago Bears on Monday night, and Case Keenum stepped in.
Keenum — who entered for the last drive before halftime — led Minnesota to a touchdown on the team’s first possession of the third quarter.
Bradford exited the game having gone 5-of-11 passing for 36 yards. Keenum is the first backup Vikings quarterback to play for the Vikings (3-2, 3rd in NFC North) this season.
Bradford had missed the previous three games with a knee injury. He took this brutal sack in the end zone from linebacker Leonard Floyd near the end of the first quarter.

Vikings safety Harrison Smith also intercepted Bears rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, a first-round draft pick out of North Carolina, on a first-and-10 with 2:32 remaining in the game.
The Vikings’ offense totaled 34 yards on 26 plays with Bradford under center.
Minnesota next hosts the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, when the Bears (1-4) visit the Baltimore Ravens.
