Carolina Panthers Schedule & Ticket Info: Weekly Matchup Analysis

The NFL schedule has been released and with that, it means that fans can start buying tickets for the 2020 season. Over the course of the next few weeks, we here at uSports will be dissecting the regular season schedules of each of the NFL teams, and tell you what games you are going to want to attend.

Today we will talk about the Carolina Panthers, who last year went 5-11 and had the worst record in the NFC South. I will be honest, I don’t expect this season to be much better, not solely because of their schedule (although I did say they have the toughest schedule in the NFC), but also because of their team. Despite having the best running back in football in Christian McCaffrey and some nice wide receivers in DJ Moore, Curtis Samuel and Robbie Anderson, who they signed in free agency, there are some definite question marks. The Panthers signed Teddy Bridgewater in free agency to be the starting quarterback and my main question with him is that is he better than Cam Newton, who he will be replacing. Also Bridgewater has not been the starter entering opening day since 2015 when he was with the Minnesota Vikings. The Panthers also have a first year head coach in Matt Rhule who is at a significant disadvantage being that there will most likely be no off season programs. On defense, outside of Brian Burns there are a lot of concerns for me as they need to replace James Bradburry and Luke Kuchley among other guys on that side of the ball.

The Panthers have a really tough schedule this year, and I would not be surprised if the Panthers finish as one of the bottom three teams in the entire NFC. They will be the team in the NFC South that the other three teams beat up on, and I project them to win at the most two games in their division, one of which is most likely that Week 17 game against the Saints, as the Saints will probably be resting a lot of guys for the playoffs. The one thing that also really hurts the Panthers, is that they have their bye week in Week 13. Not to mention that they have some really tough games prior to their bye. They have to play on the road against the Chargers, Chiefs and Vikings, they will have to play at the Saints in Week 7 on a Sunday, then the following Thursday play the Falcons at home in Week 8. Looking at their schedule, I don’t see the Panthers having more than three wins in the games prior to their bye. Looking after their bye week, the Panthers will have a tough time slowing the Broncos offense, they have to go on the road to Green Bay, which is always a tough environment to play in, and I know I said that they could in Week 17 against the Saints, but it is definitely not a guarantee.

I will be honest, if I am going to go to a Panthers game this year, it is going to be to strictly watch McCaffery play because he is a dynamic football player. But here are the five games I would suggest you attend if you want to see the Panthers play:

• Week 4: Cardinals at Panthers
• Week 6: Bears at Panthers
• Week 7: Panthers at Saints
• Week 10: Buccaneers at Panthers
• Week 14: Broncos at Panthers

I know I left off the game where the Panthers will visit the Chiefs and where the Panthers will visit the Packers, but frankly, those games are really predictable and it would take a miracle for the Panthers to win either of those games. I think with the five games I have listed, you would get to see not only some great players in guys like Drew Brees and Tom Brady, among others, but also these are all games at different points in the year that we can see how do the Panthers stack up, and see if what they are building in Carolina has a chance of succeeding in the future.
