Cal’s Jared Goff And LSU Vs. Texas Tech Highlight Tuesday’s Bowl Games

On a day when LSU, Texas Tech and Baylor are all playing, it might be tempting to overlook the Armed Forces Bowl. It has an inconvenient start time (2 P.M Eastern Time), two programs that aren’t power houses (Air Force and Cal) and generally lacks the oomph of other games on the schedule. But missing it would mean missing what could be Jared Goff‘s last NCAA game.

After joining the Golden Bears as a true freshman and surviving a dismal 1-11 season, Goff has developed into one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He currently holds 26 school records and capped off the regular season with a 542 yards, six touchdown performance in a comeback win against the ASU Sun Devils.

There are also reports that Goff could be headed to the NFL after this final game. And with those numbers and the fact that he’s projected as a top-five pick, it’s hard to blame him. Assuming he declares for the draft, this will be your last chance to check him out before he hits the NFL.

Beyond that, the teams are also competing for one of the coolest trophies in an over saturated bowl season; this one is modeled after an F-117A Nighthawk stealth bomber.
