During the alleged sexual assault, Kingston was in his junior season at BYU. He had 13 receptions for 196 yards.

Since he had redshirted his freshman season, the 2025-26 season also counted toward his junior season. He had 67 receptions for 928 yards. He also got 25 rushing attempts and ran for 119 yards.

Kingston was planning to return to BYU for his senior season. In the state of Utah, rape carries a minimum sentence of five years. If it’s found that Kingston had caused severe injuries to the alleged victim, it pushes his minimum sentence up to 15 years. Regardless, the judge can choose to give him a life sentence depending on the circumstances.

NCAA athletes must complete four seasons in five years. If Kingston serves prison time, he will lose his last season of eligibility. However, there’s currently legal battles that could cause this rule to change. Regardless, Kingston’s ability to play a senior season could be in jeopardy if he faces prison time.

The NFL does not require players to play a season of college before entering the NFL Draft. The only requirement is that you must be three years removed from your high school graduation. Kingston could play in a semi-pro league like the Canadian Football League in order to get back in shape. NFL draft eligibility remains as long as you haven’t declared before.
