Bucks Take Commanding 2-0 Series Lead Over Heat

The Milwaukee Bucks easily cruised to a Game 2 win by thrashing the Miami Heat in a 132-92 victory.

The Bucks finished the first quarter by matching two NBA records, resulting in an absolutely historic first quarter. The Bucks matched the NBA record for most three-pointers in a quarter with 10 converted shots from beyond the arc. The catalyst for the first quarter threes was guard Bryn Forbes, who drained five of six from downtown in the first quarter.

“If my man got the hot hand, I’m going to him,” Bucks point guard Jrue Holiday said of Forbes. “And he wasn’t missing, so at that point, we were running everything to him just to really just to see what happens.”

At the end of the first quarter, the Bucks matched the NBA record for the largest lead after the first quarter in the postseason. They led by a ridiculous margin of 26 points.

While the Bucks dominated from beyond the arc, Giannis Antetokounmpo reigned terror inside the paint for the whole game. The Bucks’ superstar tallied 31 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals in 31 minutes.

As to what led to Milwaukee’s dominant offense in Game 2, Forbes claimed that it was their team’s defense that led to an explosive offense. “Defense had something to do with it,” Forbes said. “We were getting big stops and pushing it in transition and just finding shots.”

Over the two games of the series, Milwaukee has a minuscule defensive rating of 100.4, locking Miami down. The defensive stops are allowing the Bucks to have clear open shots.

For Miami, both Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo have seemingly disappeared from both games now. Both have had bad production and performances so far in the series. Butler is now 8-for-32 from the field in the series for a total of 27 points, while Adebayo is now 9-for-26 for a total of 25 points.

For Heat fans, they will have to hope that both stars will start producing as the Bucks look to take a 3-0 series lead heading into Thursday night’s Game 3.
