Denver Broncos defensive players called Tennessee Titans wide receiver Harry Douglas ‘dirty’ following a controversial hit during their 13-10 road loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Broncos Slam Harry Douglas For Dirty Hit On Chris Harris In 13-10 Loss To Titans

Douglas took a low shot at Denver cornerback Chris Harris Jr.’ knee during the second quarter. On a 6-yard run by Derrick Henry with 3 minutes, 10 seconds left in the first half, Harris was standing away from the pile in the middle of the field when Douglas dove at his right knee. One play later, fellow Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib began a fight when he tackled Douglas on Tennessee’s sideline. Talib received a 15-yard personal foul penalty, although he clearly didn’t regret it.

“It was a dirty play by a sorry player,” Talib told reporters after the game. “He tried to do something dirty, so that’s why I’m going to beat his ass.”

Harris, for his part, wrote on Twitter that he believed Douglas was trying to “end my career” and that he hoped the Titans wideout would be fined.

Harris, who suffered an ACL injury in 2013, was able to return to the game.

“Thank God for covering me cuz I thought my knee was gone,” Harris wrote.

Douglas defended himself when asked about the hit and the heavy criticism of it.

“I’m a tough player. I’m a gritty player,” Douglas told reporters. “I’m not a dirty player no matter what anybody says.”

Talib and Douglas share the same agent, Todd France.

The Broncos (8-5) will next host the New England Patriots on Sunday, while the Titans (7-6) will visit the Kansas City Chiefs that day.
