Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie avoided a significant injury after a terrifying collapse against the New York Jets last Sunday.
Badie took a handoff from Bo Nix but lost yardage and the ball from a massive hit from Jet linebacker Quincy Williams. Even though he looked clearly shaken up, Badie walked off under his own power. Suddenly, he fell to the ground on the sideline, needing immediate attention from the medical staff. The medical staff stabilized him, put Badie on a headboard, and carted him off the field. However, the team reported after the game that he had movement in all of his extremities.
This week, the team reported that Badie had a back injury and would not miss extended time but was still a candidate for injured reserve.
Badie’s mom commented after the contest.

“This photo was taken just before today’s game. God was good then, and God is good now. We may not know what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future. Thank you so very much for your prayers for our son Tyler Badie.”
Head coach Sean Payton also updated Badie’s status on Monday.
“We’re still evaluating him now. He’s doing better. Everyone that’s reached out, we appreciate the concerns. Fortunately, he was able to come back before the day ended.”
Badie went to Missouri for college, and the Baltimore Ravens drafted him in the 2022 NFL draft. He had just come off a career game the week before against the Tampa Bay Buccanneers, running for 70 yards on nine carries.
The Broncos came out victorious over the Jets on the road, 10-9, as Nix threw his first career touchdown pass. It was Denver’s second consecutive win after starting the season 0-2. They return home this week for a home matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders and are 2.5 favorites against their divisional foe.
