Britain’s Eddie Hall Breaks Own World Deadlift Record

A few months ago, Britain’s Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall broke the world deadlifting record and lifted 1,018.5 pounds with relative ease. Best of all, he did it at the Arnold Sports Festival in Australia with the famous Austrian movie star cheering him on.

Eddie Hall Breaks Own World Deadlift Record

Well just a few short months later, Hall is back in the news, with him attempting and succeeding to break his own deadlift record.

So during Europe’s Strongest Man’s World Deadlift Championships, which also had uSports favorite and Game of Thrones alum Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson competing, Hall decided to tarnish his record by adding 1.5 pounds. In other words, he earned his championship by lifting 1,020 pounds, aka 463 kg.

In the past year, Hall has achieved the deadlift record twice and won the 2015 Britain’s Strongest Man competition. Now, he suffered a bit of a setback when he came in fourth at the 2015 World’s Strongest Man Competition, yet he is leagues ahead of his strongman opponents when it comes to deadlifting.

To put this in perspective, Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson’s tops out at 990 pounds, aka 450 kg. And while the man formally known as “The Mountain” is good in certain areas, Hall somehow deadlifts over a thousand pounds with relative ease.
