You may have heard that a lot of people have issues with the way Carolina Panthers’ QB Cam Newton conducts himself on the football field. You can now add former Chicago Bears’ linebacker, Brian Urlacher to that group.
“I played defense so I don’t like when guys celebrate with dances and stuff. You know who I like the way he celebrates is Peyton,” Urlacher told USA Today. “He kind of gives the guy a handshake and goes back to the sidelines. I think that’s a great celebration right there. You don’t see him dancing. You don’t see him doing all of that stuff. Even when he gets a first down he doesn’t do anything.”
Despite his criticism of Newton, Urlacher is torn on who he is rooting for in the Super Bowl, he is a fan of Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning, but Panthers’ coach Ron Rivera coached him in Chicago, where Panthers cornerback Charles Tilllan was Urlacher’s teammate.
“I’m a huge Ron Rivera fan, I played for Ron for three years in Chicago. Obviously Charles [Tillman] is there and Jared Allen, I’ve known Jared for a few years,” he said. “I’d like to see Peyton go and win the Super Bowl and then retire because I’m such a huge Peyton Manning fan but at the same time you don’t get many chances to get back to the Super Bowl and so Carolina, you know you’d like to see them win as well.”

Urlacher has been in the headlines more often in recent weeks as he debuted a hair transplant that may cause people to do a double take when they see him. You can see what Urlacher looks like now in this video, where he surprises a family with 50 tickets to the Super Bowl on behalf of Marriot.
