Brandon Aiyuk Taunts 49ers With Immature Social Media Posts & Accuses Ex-Agent Of Withholding Information

The ongoing saga between Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers has become one of the biggest storylines of the NFL offseason, with recent developments suggesting a split is likely.

Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120 million extension before the 2024 season but has spent much of the past year in dispute with the organization, frequently airing frustrations on Instagram. Aiyuk suffered a devastating knee injury, tearing his ACL against the Kansas City Chiefs, which sidelined him for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. Since then, he has been in conflict with the 49ers, who voided his guaranteed money after he allegedly failed to attend required rehab sessions and other team activities.

Instead of staying quiet, Aiyuk has repeatedly voiced his frustration on Instagram. Clips have gone viral of him calling team officials “dumb” and “stupid,” and he has posted multiple Instagram stories hinting at a desire to join the Washington Commanders. One post simply read, “Go Commanders,” while others encouraged fans to buy tickets through the Commanders’ official website.

It’s unclear which teams are pursuing Aiyuk, but in his 2023 campaign he posted 1,342 receiving yards and served as the 49ers’ No. 1 wide receiver. Since the Super Bowl, however, things have unraveled, and the 49ers appear to be waiting for the right time to move on from him.

Reportedly, even Aiyuk’s agent has struggled to reach him, escalating the standoff between the receiver and the 49ers. All indications are that both sides are focused on ending the relationship as soon as possible.

This week, Aiyuk accused his ex-agent of withholding information and asked the NFLPA for help.

“When members of the union that is in place to help players is lying/witholding information from a player on behalf of the team alongside a certified agent…that’s some straight BS!!!,” Aiyuk wrote.
