Bradley Chubb Signs With Bills To Improve Their Blitzing

The Buffalo Bills have signed veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb.

Chubb signed a three-year, $43.5 million contract. Chubb was released by the Miami Dolphins earlier this offseason.

After missing the 2024 season with a torn ACL, Chubb looked to return to dominance in 2025. Chubb started the season by getting a sack in three straight games. He cooled off as the season went on and only had two sacks in the final four games.

Despite a late-season decline, Chubb still finished the season with 8.5 sacks. This is the third-highest mark of his career.

Most publications considered pass rushing to be one of the Bills’ biggest needs in the offseason. The Bills had 36 sacks in 2025, a below-average mark in the league.

Their leading pass rusher was Gregory Rousseau, who had seven sacks. Rousseau signed a four-year extension last offseason.

New Bills defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard plans to implement a more aggressive system. As the pass game coordinator for the Denver Broncos, he looked to create turnovers in the secondary. However, he’s also stated that he wants the Bills to be more aggressive with blitzing. Chubb is the perfect addition to improve the Bills’ pass rush game.

Chubb last made the Pro Bowl in 2022. He started the season with the Broncos before being traded to the Dolphins. Chubb had 11 sacks in 2023 but surprisingly didn’t make the Pro Bowl.

In his rookie season in 2018, Chubb recorded 12 sacks and finished third in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting. Chubb has had a good career, but has yet to match this season.

The Bills’ defense now looks strong, but they will need to improve the offense as well. The interior of the offensive line is weak. Along with that, they also need reliable receivers for Josh Allen to throw to.
