Many analysts have been claiming that Texas, for all intents and purposes, is out of the NCAA tournament, but this did not hinder play during their intense match up against rival 14th seed Baylor.
In overtime, a contested ball resulted in incidental contact between Baylor’s Royce O’Neale and Texas’ Isaiah Taylor: the pushing and shoving then led to a bench clearing scuffle, which saw a total of seven players ejected — four from Texas and three from Baylor. In both professional and college basketball, anytime players leave the bench during an incident they are automatically tossed from the game.
The overtime would end on a game-winner by Isaiah Taylor giving Texas a 61-59 victory. But the drama did not stop there. Instead of calmly shaking hands, the two sides proceeded to stare each other down as Texas fans booed the Baylor players off the court.
