Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver has been accused of making racist and sexist comments in the workplace. ESPN published a report detailing instances where Sarver demonstrated poor behavior that has created a toxic environment within the Suns’ organization.

The ESPN article bases its information on interviews conducted with 70 former and current Suns employees. Sarver has been the owner for 17 years after purchasing the Suns for $401 million in 2004. During Sarver’s time with the organization, an unidentified co-owner explains that “the level of misogyny and racism is beyond the pale.”

Sarver has denied these allegations calling them “lies, innuendo, and false narrative.” He also told the public that he believes that these comments and interviews are an attempt to tear down the Suns’ organization.

Sarver has been accused of using racial insults directed toward black players and coaches, openly talking about having sex with his wife and talking down to women employees of the Suns.

Jason Rowley, the Suns’ president, has come to Sarver’s defense by calling the article “false” and saying that Sarver is not “racist” or “sexist.”

The Suns made it to the NBA finals last year but lost to the Milwaukee Bucks – this was the third time in franchise history that they had made it to the finals and lost. The Suns are yet to win an NBA title.

The name of the former Chicago Blackhawks video coach Brad Aldrich has been removed from the Stanley Cup after several years of ongoing sexual assault allegations. His name is the first in history to be fully removed from the trophy.

In 2010, Aldrich had invited the 20-year-old rookie at the time, Kyle Beach, to his apartment for dinner. Beach later told the Blackhawks that he had been sexually assaulted by Aldrich that night. Beach also explained that his career was threatened. “To be honest, I was scared mostly. I was fearful. I had my career threatened. I felt alone and darker,” he said about the following days after the assault.

Beach had spoken up in 2010, but the team leaders at the time decided that an investigation would be bad publicity during their playoff push. The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup that year and allegations were not made public until months after.

Beach said that seeing Aldrich celebrate the Stanley Cup victory as if nothing had happened made him feel “like nothing.” He said, “It made me feel like I didn’t exist. It made me feel like he was in the right and I was wrong.”

Aldrich was asked months later to either resign or allow an investigation to take place. He resigned and has since worked for USA Hockey, Notre Dame and other universities. However, in 2013 he was arrested for criminal sexual conduct including with a minor. He pleaded guilty and is a registered sex offender in Michigan.

Recently, Beach filed a lawsuit against the Blackhawks using the name John Doe but has since revealed his identity publicly. The Blackhawks’ chairman Rocky Wirtz wrote to the Hockey Hall of Fame asking that Alderich’s name be taken off the trophy.

“Taking a stand on the unforgivable behavior of Aldrich should include erasing his name from the Cup,” he wrote. “Out of respect to each and every player who sacrificed to earn their place on the Cup, our request is based on principle and our moral belief that a convicted sex offender does not belong on the Stanley Cup.”

Cleveland Brown’s wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.‘s stat sheet does not reflect his ability and his father may know the reason why. Odell Beckham Sr. posted a YouTube video to Instagram revealing the many times that Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has failed to make a pass to an open OBJ this season.

Beckham Sr. has stood by his son this season as OBJ and the Browns have underperformed on several occasions. However, Beckham Sr. could not stand idle any longer and decided to express his grievances on Instagram. The post’s caption read, “Generally Behind Da Scene, BUT NOT TODAY.”

Watch the video Beckham Sr. shared with his followers:

After starting the season off on a high, the Browns have begun to struggle, mustering only one win in their last four games. It’s true that Beckham and Mayfield have both been battling shoulder injuries, but it’s also true that there has been a lack of connectivity in their passing game. The Browns are now 4-4 on the season as they head to this Sunday’s match-up against the Cincinnati Bengals. OBJ has yet to score a touchdown this season.

Las Vegas Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III was involved in a collision that resulted in a car fire and a death on Tuesday morning. Ruggs is facing a DUI following the incident.

According to a posted video, Ruggs was at a Topgolf location in Las Vegas a couple of hours before the crash. Then, at around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Ruggs’ Chevrolet Corvette and a Toyota Rav4 collided setting the Rav4 ablaze and killing a person inside.

According to police at the scene, the 22-year-old showed “signs of impairment.” Ruggs was then brought to a nearby hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

The Raiders have since released a statement about the incident. “The Raiders are aware of an accident involving Henry Ruggs III that occurred this morning in Las Vegas. We are devastated by the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family. We are in the process of gathering information and will have no further comment at this time.”

Ruggs won the National Championship with the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2017 and was later picked 12th in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. This season, the stand-out receiver has already matched two touchdowns he recorded in his inaugural season and surpassed his receiving yards, running with the ball for 469 yards in 7 games. The Raiders are 5-2 and are set to meet the New York Giants this Sunday in MetLife Stadium.

The New York Mets are officially on the search for a new general manager two months after Zack Scott was arrested for drunk driving. This GM role in the Mets’ organization has been plagued by controversy in the past year. Scott was promoted after his predecessor, Jared Porter, was fired for sexual misconduct.

Scott was placed on administrative leave but has since been fired. Sandy Alderson has since stepped in as interim GM and will do so until the Met’s find a good fit for the position.

After losing two general managers and their coach of two years all in one season, the Mets have been in disarray. Luis Rojas left as head coach after his contract was not renewed following two losing seasons.

The Mets ended the 2021 season without a spot in the playoffs and with a losing 77-85 record. The upcoming months will be huge for the Mets as they prepare to rebuild and refocus for the 2022 season.

Bill Belichick is known by his faithful Patriots fans as being a coach that will do almost anything to win. So why not give his hardest-working assistant coaches cash? This could be the secret to his six Super Bowl rings.

A book written by Seth Wickersham, It’s Better To Be Feared, chronicles the New England Patriots and deep dives into their success-driven culture. According to the book, Bellichick incentivizes his coaching staff with stacks of cash. Around the Patriot practice field, the stacks are called “green balls.” When his coaches have exceeded his expectations, he will give them money from his pocket.  “Green balls” can be thousands of dollars in the regular season and – if your that hardworking, result-driven worker – up to six figures in the post-season.

The 69-year-old knows how to win and knows how to motivate his people. He has won the Super Bowl six times in his 21 years with the Patriots and is highly regarded for drafting all-time great QB Tom Brady in the 6th round (199th pick) and molding him to greatness.

Last season, Bellichick and TB12 parted ways after 20 years. This year was the first Super Bowl that Brady won without Belichick calling the shots. Does this mean that Brady is a better QB than Belichick is a coach? I’m not sure. We do know for sure that his competitiveness in the next couple of seasons will be frightening after trading Brady and then watching Tampa Bay win a Super Bowl.

Belichick and the Patriots are 3-4 this season with their next game taking place on Halloween at SoFi Stadium against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Brett Favre has $228,00 that he still owes the Misisppi’s auditors office, and he could be sued if he does not pay up. Auditor Shad White said that this amount is interest on the original $600,000 that was given to Favre and that he repaid earlier in the week. The amount that should be repaid totals $828,000.

The Hall of Famer received this money in welfare funds in early 2020. It was later revealed that this was illegally attained money from a massive Missippi embezzlement scheme. Owners of two non-profits, who invited to the football great to speak, were indicted on a state and federal level. Although Favre is not facing any criminal charges, he had to return the funds – and still has more to repay.

“If he does not pay that ($228,000) within 30 days of our demand, the AG will be responsible for enforcing the payment of the interest in court,” White said about the possibility of Favre being sued.

Josh Cavallo, a midfielder for Adelaide United F.C. of Australias A-league, told the world a secret that he has been hiding his entire life. In a video posted to all of Adelaide’s social media pages, Cavallo came out as gay. He is now one of the only openly gay players around the world in a major soccer league.

“I don’t know what else to say,” Cavallo said at the beginning of the video before he began to open up about his past in the soccer community in Australia and how he always believed that he had to hide being gay. He was a star athlete but believed that because of who he was, he had to hide in order to make it to the next level of play. “There is something personal that I need to share with everyone. I’m a footballer and I’m gay. Growing up I always felt the need to hide myself because I was ashamed. Hiding who I truly am to pursue a dream that I always wished for as a kid,” he said.  “All I want to do is play football and be treated equally.”

“I want to inspire and show people that it’s ok to be yourself and play football. It’s ok to be gay and play football.  I want to show all the other people who are struggling and who are scared – whoever it may be – don’t act like someone your not, be yourself…. I am Josh Cavallo, I’m a footballer, and I’m proud to be gay.”

Professional soccer players from major leagues around the world have taken to social media and other platforms to applaud his courageousness and express their support. The 5-time Champions League-winning powerhouse FC Barcelona has paid tribute via Twitter along with their star defender Gerard Pique.

The 21-year-old Cavallo has recently made his way onto the first division side sporting the number 27. He seemingly has unlimited energy when running goal to goal in the midfield. The A-league kicks off in late November and Adelaide United will hope to improve from last season after posting fifth in the table.

Russell Westbrook is unapologetic for his actions after being ejected at the end of a tough loss for the Los Angeles Lakers. His frustration was preventable. The Lakers were 26 points ahead in the first half against the Oklahoma City Thunder but ended up suffering a come-from-behind defeat (123-115) due to poor passing and decision-making.

With 1.5 seconds on the clock, Darius Bazley decided to run full steam toward the hoop and throw down a ferocious dunk instead of dribbling out the clock. At that moment, Westbrook flipped. He went straight for Bazley. From his point of view, the dunk was unnecessary and unsportsmanlike because the Thunder were leading by six. When asked about the ejection, he explained that he is “more old-school.”

“When s— like that happens, I don’t let it slide,” he said. “In the game of basketball, there’s certain things you just don’t do. Like in baseball, you don’t flip the bat. There’s certain things you don’t do in sports when the game’s already over. And I didn’t like it. Simple as that.”

With the addition of Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony, the Lakers are trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. Westbrook will be looking to regain his passing focus against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although the 32-year-old had a triple-double against the Thunder (20 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists) he also turned the ball over 10 times.

Langston Love

Four-star recruit Langston Love has torn his ACL just two weeks before No. 8 Baylor starts their regular season on November 12. Love will be out for the remainder of the season.

Baylor is the defending NCAA men’s basketball champion after going face to face with fellow No. 1 seed Gonzaga and in the end, defeating them 86-70. During that 2021 March Madness run, Love was playing high school basketball and had already made quite the name for himself. He signed with Baylor in July of 2020 after his Junior year.

The freshman shooting guard, who was playing in a preseason scrimmage against Texas A&M, tore his ACL while driving to the hoop. He had 13 points up until that point. On Monday, Baylor announced that Love will redshirt this season because he must undergo surgery that will take some time to rehabilitate. The 19-year-old is expected to make a full recovery.

Coach Scott Drew commented on the event and what it will mean for Love’s future. “Langston has been a great addition to our program, and we were really excited about his potential to contribute on the court this season,” he said. “While we’re disappointed he won’t have that opportunity, he’s a terrific teammate who will do whatever he can to help us from the sidelines this year. Langston has a great support system, and we know he’ll work hard and come back stronger than ever.”

In high school, Love averaged 19.5 points in 52 games before transferring to Montverde Academy after his sophomore season. He now stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 210 pounds.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - OCTOBER 25: Tom Brady #12 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drops back to pass in the second quarter against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium on October 25, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Byron Kennedy, a Buccaneers’ fan, is receiving royal treatment after giving back the ball that marks Tom Brady‘s 600th career touchdown pass.

On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Chicago Bears with a convincing 38-3 thrashing. The scoreline, while impressive, was not even the second most discussed topic regarding the game. Brady’s touchdown pass, and Kennedy gifting the TD ball back to Brady were the highlights. The 44-year-old threw a nine-yard pass to wide receiver Mike Evens with 10 seconds left in the first quarter and made history. One lucky fan got his hands on the ball but gave it back to Brady without truly considering its worth.

Kennedy was originally promised autographed memorabilia and season tickets in return for giving up the ball. Is that all that ball was worth? Definitely not. It’s likely that in the heat of this joyous moment Kennedy had not realized the gold he possessed within his hands.

Brady appeared on Monday Night Football with the Manning brothers to talk about the moment. “Byron lost all his leverage when he gave up the ball, said Brady jokingly to the two former Super Bowl-winning QBs. “He should have held it,” he quipped.

This ball truly means the world to Brady – he was the first NFL quarterback in history to complete 600 TD passes. In light of Kennedy’s kindness in that moment, Brady has decided to gift Kennedy something special. “I’m also giving him a Bitcoin, so at the end of the day, I think he’s making out pretty well,” Brady said

Here is a final list of gifts awarded for the TD ball: a Bitcoin — worth around $60,000 at the moment — as well jerseys and a helmet signed by Brady, cleats and a jersey signed by Evans and season tickets. The fan that sat next to Kennedy will be kicking himself that he had not competed a little harder to grab that ball.

Marshawn Lynch shines in Raiders' season-opening win vs. Titans

On Monday, the Super Bowl XLVIII running back Marshawn Lynch appeared on Monday Night Football alongside hosts Peyton and Eli Manning. Lynch revealed that he would not come back to play in the NFL, even if he was asked by Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During Lynch’s career, the 35-year-old was frequently in the headlines – most of the time for his powerful running and untouchable speed but sometimes for his larger-than-life personality and media antics. On Monday Night Football, he did not fail to be the most entertaining person on the T.V. screen.

For example, early on in the show, Lynch was asked about a certain pre-game ritual. Eli asked, “I learned that before games you had a pre-game ritual where you would do a shot and a half of Hennessy before the game. Did you do anything to get warmed up tonight?” Lynch jokingly replied in a way that excited fans for what was to come for the rest of the episode. “Well, I’m not playin’, so I had a three-shot minimum today. So I’m feeling real good. I took one for me, I took one for big bro, and I have one for little bro,” he said.

While the three did briefly discuss Lynch’s affinity for eating Skittles on the sidelines during his games – a habit that the three jokingly attributed to his edge over the competition – they also discussed some serious topics. Lynch, nicknamed “Beast Mode,” was asked how he learned to run with such raw power that would result in other players bouncing off of him. He was also asked if he would want to return to the NFL.

Peyton asked, “Marshawn if the Tampa Bay Bucs offered you a contract tomorrow, would you come back and play?”

Lynch then squashed the hopes of many “Beast Mode” fans and emphasized that he is happy where he is. “As much as I would love to go line it up with TB (Tom Brady), I’m satisfied where I’m at,” he said.

Lynch briefly retired after a fruitful career with the Seattle Seahawks in 2016 and then came back for three more seasons and retired again in 2019. Lynch is a five-time Pro Bowler, as well as earning a first-team All-Pro accolade and a Super Bowl championship.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is nursing a torn labrum in his left shoulder but is still hoping to play in the clash with the Denver Broncos on Thursday night.

In an effort to make a tackle after throwing an interception, Mayfield suffered a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder. The 26-year-old added a support harness to his shoulder and did not let this stop him from playing in the proceeding games. However, on Sunday while playing the Arizona Cardinals, Mayfield made matters worse by irritating the injury.

Mayfield has since discussed his thoughts on the injury and his eligibility to play in the upcoming Thursday night game. “I work with my physiotherapist and do everything I possibly can. After that, it’s pain tolerance and wanting to be out there for my guys,” he said. “Obviously if I was in a physical state where I wasn’t able to play to the best of my abilities and I was hurting the team, I wouldn’t do that because I care about winning.”

“Only I know how my body feels,” he added. “If anyone questions whether I’m hindering the team and going out there injured, that’s just not right. It’s my decision. I get to say whether I’m able to play or not, and that’s just how it is.”

Mayfield is set to receive an update from his doctor regarding the condition of his shoulder on Tuesday which will give him and coach Kevin Stefanski a one-day timeframe to make a decision.

Stefanski commented on the injury as well. “With Baker, with all of our players, they have significant input in these decisions because it is their body. I just rely on what they say, I rely on the medical staff when making those determinations,” he said.

If Mayfield does sit this game out, Case Keenum will start.

The Browns and the Broncos are both heading into Thursday night with an identical 3-3 record on the season.

Former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz has published a full page in the Philadelphia Inquirer thanking the city and Eagles fans for inspiring him to be great during his eight-year run with the team. On Friday, the Eagles announced that Ertz would be starting a new chapter of his career with the Arizona Cardinals.

The Eagles acquired Ertz in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. After many successful years with the franchise and three Pro Bowls under his belt, it is safe to say he has had a tremendous influence on the team during his time in Philadelphia. During his eight seasons, the 30-year-old has had 579 receptions and 38 touchdown catches while also setting an NFL record for most catches in a single season by a tight end – in 2018 he recorded 116 catches.

Although Ertz was beloved by the Eagles community, over the summer there was speculation that he would be traded before the start of the season. It did not happen as anticipated, but it did in fact happen. After six games of the season, the trade became a reality when the Cardinals traded a 2022 fifth-round draft pick and Tay Gowan for Ertz.

During preseason, Ertz told reporters that he was “excited to be here” despite trade speculation. “This is the most fun I’ve had coming to work in a long time these past four weeks,” he said. “It’s been freeing to kind of just focus on football.”

Ertz leaves an Eagles team that has struggled to get moving this season – a team that has only recorded two wins in the first six games (2-4). Conversely, the Cardinals are off to an incredible start (6-0) and will look to continue this push with the addition of Ertz.

“Ultimately I’m here to just kind of put in the past. I’m not here to make it about me, ultimately. I’m excited be here,” he told reporters. “This is the most fun I’ve had coming to work in a long time these past four weeks…. It’s been freeing to kind of just focus on football.”

With the Eagles off to a 2-4 start, the front office elected to move on from Ertz. The Cardinals had a need at tight end after Maxx Williams suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers.

PHILADELPHIA, PA - AUGUST 06: Manager Aaron Boone #17 of the New York Yankees talks to the umpires during the game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on August 6, 2020 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Phillies defeated the Yankees 5-4.

On Tuesday, manager Aaron Boone signed a three-year contract extension with the New York Yankees.

Boone was called up to lead the Yankees as manager on Dec. 4, 2017, after ownership decided not to extend Joe Gerardi‘s contract. Since Boone’s inaugural season, he has maintained a winning record (328-218) in the regular season. He and the Yankees have also made post-season appearances in all of his four seasons and reached the ALCS in 2019. Their run eventually came to an end at the hands of a talented Houston Astros team – the series ended 4-2.

The Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner commented on the renewed contract by highlighting some of Boone’s managerial qualities. “We have a person and manager in Aaron Boone who possesses the baseball acumen and widespread respect in our clubhouse to continue to guide us forward,” he said. “As a team and as an organization, we must grow, evolve and improve. We need to get better. Period. I know Aaron fully embraces our expectations of success, and I look forward to drawing on his intelligence, instincts and leadership in pursuit of our next World Series championship.”

The Yankees ended their 2021 season in the American League Wild Card Game against the Boston Red Sox. They ultimately fell behind early in the game and were unable to gain momentum which resulted in a 6-2 loss. The Red Sox are still fighting through the playoffs and are currently in an advantageous 2-1 position in the ALCS against the Astros.

On Wednesday, broadcaster and former Major League catcher Ray Fosse died at 74 after battling cancer for the past 16 years.

Fosse was a mainstay in broadcasting for the past 35 years and was highly regarded in the baseball and Oakland A’s communities – he worked for the franchise since 1986. However, he won the hearts of A’s fans well before his time as a commentator. He was on the A’s 1973 and 1974 World Series Championship teams after his time with the Cleveland Indians. He sported All-Star honors and championship rings during his 12-year career as a catcher.

Fosse was a great player but really wrote his page in MLB’s history book after a famous collision in the 1970’s All-Star Game. Pete Rose was running full speed into home plate and Fosse stood his ground with the ball in an attempt to tag him out. Rose ended up lowering his shoulder and leveling Fosse with a football-inspired hit. The ball flew out of the catcher’s glove and Rose scored. The injuries to Fosse’s shoulder plagued the remainder of his career.

The A’s showed their support and gratitude for Fosse’s many years of service with a heartfelt statement on their website. He leaves behind his wife, Carol, two daughters and four grandchildren.

Top-tier international prospect Fanbo Zeng has de-committed from Gonzaga and signed with G League Ignite.

Three years ago, Zeng moved from China to the United States to play high school ball. At 6-foot-11 and nearing 200 pounds, he stood out on the court in Oregon and Florida. However, due to the pandemic, he moved back to China but was still receiving scholarship offers from college basketball teams like Virginia Tech, Gonzaga and Florida State. He ultimately decided to commit to Gonzaga in November 2020.

In April, Zeng decided to move away from the idea of playing basketball in college and set his focus on the G Leauge – the NBA’s minor league.

Zeng told ESPN, “This is the best and fastest way to become a pro, and also get better every day, This was the best decision I could make while I was in China. I’m not saying the NCAA isn’t good – just that the G League is the best way for me.”

He signed with the G League Ignite, a team based in Walnut Creek, California. Ignite has been the home of many standouts who have decided to sidestep college in search of a different route to the NBA. Other Ignite players such as MarJon Beauchamp, Jaden Hardy, Michael Foster and Dyson Daniels will stand beside Zeng in hopes of going in the first round of the 2022 NBA draft.

As a sophomore, Zeng averaged 15.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game at Windermere Prep high school near Orlando, Florida. Zeng has great 3-point shooting ability and is undoubtedly one of the most impressive NBA prospects coming out of China.

Brooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving is unwavering in his decision to opt out of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. He opened up about his decision on Instagram Live on Wednesday.

New York City has mandated that anyone entering a large event or gathering must be vaccinated. Due to this protocol, it is impossible for players to continue playing without receiving the vaccine. Would these players only forfeit the games in New York City? What about all the other cities with a similar mandate? Recently, the Nets decided to take matters into their own hands and disqualified Irving from practice or play until he receives the vaccine.

In his Instagram Live comments, he acknowledged the financial ramifications of standing behind his decision – he is losing $400,000 per game. “It is the reality that in order to be in New York City, in order to be on a team, I have to be vaccinated. I chose to be unvaccinated, and that was my choice and I would ask you all to just respect that choice,” he said.

“I am going to just continue to stay in shape,” Irving said, refuting some claims made by the media and fans about his possible early retirement. “This is not a political thing; this is not about the NBA, not about any organization. This is about my life and what I am choosing to do.”

The Nets will have to deal with the loss of Irving for the foreseeable future. Their first game of the season will be away against the Milwaukee Bucks on Oct. 19.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre received $828,000 in welfare funds in early 2020. According to Shad White, the Mississippi State Auditor, he must now return all of it. The money may have been funded by the largest embezzlement scheme in Mississippi history.

Owners of two non-profit organizations have been indicted for the part they played in the scheme. The embezzlement charges have been brought on a state and federal level. Favre is not facing any criminal charges. However, if he does not return the money in 30 days, he and Favre Enterprises could face a civil lawsuit.

Favre received a letter from the Mississippi auditor’s office that explained that accepting money from the non-profit while knowing that the funds may have been illegal is an unlawful act.

Favre was supposed to speak in front of a non-profit called Families First For Mississippi, an organization involved in the scheme, in exchange for the money he received. Farve never actually spoke, and now he denies any knowledge that the funds were illegal.

On Monday, the Boston Red Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 6-5 and leveled up to the ALCS. The game 4 match-up ended the American League Divisional Series and made for a dramatic event in Boston.

The Red Sox were off to a dream start after rallying to score five runs in the bottom of the third inning. The series was 2-1 in favor of Boston, and this was turning out to be one of their easiest ALDS wins in recent history. However, the Rays showed desire and grit to keep Boston fans on the edge of their seats starting in the top of the fifth.

Austin Meadows grounded out to first to drive in Jordan Luplow with Tampa’s first score of the game. Tampa’s push intensified after Wander Franco hit a 418-foot bomb into the stands to add two runs to the scoreboard in the top of the sixth. After slowly but steadily climbing back out of an early hole, Kevin Kiermair scored his second run of the game to spur a comeback and send Red Sox fans into a nervous frenzy. It was 5-5 heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Then, just like that, with a possible late come-from-behind loss in the back of his mind, Enrique Hernandez stepped up to the plate. Hernandez overcame the pressure and Fenway Park erupted – seemingly trying to shake its way onto the Richter Scale – after he cracked a J.P Feyereisen pitch to the left-center field which drove Danny Santana to score.

Boston is now in the American League Championship Series following Monday’s victory and their win against the New York Yankees in the Wild Card Game. Their opponent is yet to be decided as the Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros duke it out for the spot. The ALCS Game 1 will take place on Oct. 15.
