The Arizona Diamondbacks are having a historic season – historically bad, that is.
The franchise currently sits at a season record of 20-50, but 23 of those 50 losses have come on the road; the inability to win a game as the visitor this many consecutive times places them first with the longest losing streak of this type. They overtake the 1943 Athletics and 1963 Mets with the most consecutive road losses in MLB history.
The Diamondbacks are an abysmal 9-31 when playing away from home. Their losing streak dates back to May 4, which was a loss against the Miami Marlins. They have a six-game homestand for now before playing another away matchup that could snap their losing streak.
If they can turn around their losing ways on the road the next time they suit up as the visitors, their record might be quickly broken by the Baltimore Orioles, who have now lost 19 straight away from home.
