Every year, the Masters, largely considered the most anticipated golf tournament in the world, provides fans with something unexpected.
This year, that something is a golfer urinating in the open in the middle of a round.
Jose Luis Ballester, an Arizona State golfer who won the U.S. Amateur, decided to relieve himself in a creek on the 13th hole.
Ballester, who was playing with Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas, decided to “sneak in the river” and go to the bathroom.

Fans at the hole took notice.
“They clapped for me,” Ballester said. “Probably one of the claps that I really got today real loud, so that was kind of funny.”
Ballester made headlines not just for going to the bathroom, but for his attire. He decided to wear an Arizona State cap with the letters on it upside down.
Ballester has no regrets from his actions on Thursday.
“It was not embarrassing at all for me,” Ballester said. “If I had to do it again, I would do it again.”
Ballester finished the day shooting +4.
