The Philadelphia Eagles benched running back and kickoff receiver Cartavious “Tank” Bigsby for Thursday night’s visit to the New York Giants, leaving some fans questioning last summer’s trade.
The 24-year-old spent his first two professional seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before joining the reigning Super Bowl champions in September. In exchange, the Florida franchise received fifth and sixth-round picks for the 2026 NFL Draft.
But since coming to Philadelphia, the former Auburn player has played zero offensive snaps. In Week 6, coach Nick Sirianni benched Bigsby after being part of 29% of the Eagles’ special team plays this season. Bigsby is also underperforming the average yardage per kickoff return in the league, tallying 20.8 yards per return.
After starting the season 4-0, the Eagles dropped two games in a row for the first time since the end of the 2023 regular season. Sirianni’s team returns to the field next Sunday to face the Minnesota Vikings on the road.
