Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers ascended higher in the pantheon of Hall of Fame quarterbacks on Sunday against the New England Patriots.
It was the second quarter when the Steelers were up by 7 points. The clock read 13:53, with second-and-nine.
Rodgers threw the ball at the 12-yard line to wide receiver DK Metcalf.
Completing the pass gave Rodgers his 509th career pass touchdown.

Rodgers surpassed Brett Favre’s 508 career pass touchdowns. This play put him in fourth place on the all-time passing touchdowns list.
“We got to make those plays so we’re not in those positions,” Rodgers said. “It means I’ve played a long time,” when asked about the milestones.
Later in the game, Rodgers made another play that earned him his 510th career pass touchdown.
In this play, it was the fourth quarter with 2:16 left on the clock to give the victory to the Steelers.
Rodgers’ overall stats included 16 completed throws out of 23 attempts. He accumulated a total of 139 yards and one interception.
The Steelers won 21-14. Their next game is scheduled for September 28 against the Vikings.
