Aaron Rodgers seems optimistic he’ll be able to play Sunday – but that should not influence the Green Bay Packer’s decision at quarterback.
The future hall-of-fame quarterback on Sunday Night Football suffered a rib injury that gave him a “hard time breathing.”
He was eventually replaced by 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love in the fourth quarter.
While there were fears over cracked ribs or a punctured lung, Rodgers revealed some good news on Tuesday during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“I got good news with the scans yesterday, so I plan on playing this week,” he said.
Moreover, Rodgers said that he has been playing through a broken thumb since week five.
But those are just two reasons why Rodgers should not start against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
While Rodgers is doing all he can and might still give the Packers the best chance the win, the team is 4-8 on the season and is unlikely to make the playoffs.
So why not turn to Love and see what he’s got? Rather than continue to throw your injury-prone soon-to-be 39-year-old quarterback out there.
Eventually, the Packers need to find out how well Love is able to run an NFL offense – and there isn’t a better time than now.
Love in his brief stint against Philadelphia Eagles looked pretty comfortable in the pocket and showed off his mobility.
He completed six passes for 113 yards and threw a touchdown pass.
Love at the very least deserves an extensive look and should get an opportunity at some point.
While many feel it should happen against the Bears, which is one of the league’s worst defenses, head coach Matt LaFleur said he isn’t ready to turn to Love yet if Rodgers is deemed ready to play on Sunday.
“Aaron’s the starting quarterback. He’s battled through a lot throughout the course of his career,” he said.
But that could change with another loss to the Bears.
And it seems like its the inevitable before Love takes over as the starting quarterback (bearing an injury) before the season ends, whether that’s this upcoming Sunday or not.
