Aaron Hernandez’s Lawyer Suspects Jury Member Lied

In a weird turn of events, an anonymous caller told Aaron Hernandez’s legal team that one of the jurors may have lied to get on the case.

Aaron Hernandez’s Lawyer Suspects Jury Member Lied

A few months ago, the former New England Patriots’ tight end was convicted for the murder of Odin Lloyd and sentenced to life in prison. His legal team is also currently working on his defense for his next trials for the murders of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado and a witness intimidation charge for the shooting of Alexander Bradley.

However, an anonymous phone call to Hernandez’s attorneys have them questioning the validity of the initial indictment. Attorney James Sultan stated that he talked to a caller four times since the initial conviction. She stated that one of the jurors, who she recognized on television, was present for a discussion about the Abreu and Furtado murders – both shooting deaths were banned from the Odin Lloyd trial.

On top of this, she mentioned that the juror allegedly professed interest in the trial to another person and actively sought out to be on the jury. Obviously, if the defense knew any of this, they would have removed the juror during the selection process, meaning he or she had to have lied to get on the case.

Still, the tipster only gave her first name, the name of the juror, which has been redacted, and refused to give any further details. So Sultan has asked to subpoena her number in an attempt to locate the caller.

Now, this is a bit of a problem when it comes to high profile criminal proceedings: one jury member in particular had to be dismissed during the Hernandez trial for lying about her knowledge of the case. With this said, there is still no word on whether this could lead to a retrial or when his other trials will commence
