Taylor Pomaski, the girlfriend of former NFL player Kevin Ware, went missing eight months ago. Pomaski, 29, was last seen at a house party in the Houston area on April 25. Her case was categorized as "suspicious" with the possibility of foul play and transferred to the homicide unit on May 19. The investigation into her disappearance lead the Harris County Sheriffs Office to team up with Texas EquuSearch, an organization dedicated to finding missing persons. On December 10, they searched a site identified in the investigation in North Harris Country and found remains. The remains were confirmed to be human remains by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. “At this time, investigators are unclear on the identity of the remains, but investigators believe them to be related to the Pomaski case," Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. Pomaski's father said that Ware, a former San Francisco 49ers and Washington Football Team tight end had been dating his daughter for about a year. Ware is currently serving time on an unrelated drugs and weapons charge. He was originally arrested on April 19 but was released on bond. When Ware didn't show up for his court date in June, he was arrested again. The second arrest included a car chase in which Ware drove above 115 miles per hour while carrying weapons and drugs. Ware has not been charged with any connection to Pomaski's disappearance. "He’s been cooperative," Ware's attorney Coby DuBose said. "He’s told the police everything that he knows and he’s led them through his house." Ware remains at the Montgomery Country jail. The county medical examiner will determine if the remains belong to Pomaski.
