On August 21, 1989, WWF star André Roussimoff, who’s better known as André the Giant, was arrested and charged with assault and criminal mischief.
Roussimoff got into an altercation with a cameraman at a WWF event, which led to Roussimoff putting the cameraman into a headlock, and he damaged the camera.

Roussimoff was acquitted of the assault charge, but he was found guilty of the criminal mischief charge. He was fined $100 and ordered to pay $233 for the damaged camera.

In 1973, Roussimoff signed with the World Wide Wrestling Federation, which is now known as WWE. He went on a 15-year unbeaten streak from 1973 to 1987, before losing to Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania III.
During his career, Roussimoff was a one-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion and a one-time WWF Tag Team Champion.
Roussimoff was inducted into the inaugural WWE Hall of Fame class in 1993.
On January 28, 1993, Roussimoff passed away from congestive heart failure.
