2022 Season Preview: Baltimore Orioles – Schedule, Tickets, Roster

When you finished tied for dead last in the standings and had the worst run differential by -75 runs, there’s always the promise of next year. Well, it’s next year for the Baltimore Orioles, who will try to vanquish any memories of last year’s abysmal campaign.

However, fans seem to always be waiting—and vanquishing memories—in Baltimore: Since the O’s last made the playoffs in 2016, they lost 87 games in 2017; 115 (!!!) in 2018; 108 in 2019, finished 25-35 in the shortened 2020 season; and 110 last year.

Patience is clearly wearing thin. But perhaps 2022 is their year, as the team moved the left-field fence back 26.5 feet.

Truth be told, it will likely be a long summer in Baltimore, regardless of left field’s distance. But everyone’s record will be 0-0 on Opening Day—hope does indeed spring eternal.

The Orioles will open their season on April 8 for three games against division-rival Tampa. They’ll then head back home for three against the Brewers and three against the Yankees. Baltimore will also close out the first half of the season in Tampa.

They’ll open the second half at home for three against the Yankees and then four against who else? The Rays. Their regular season will conclude with four games in Boston, three in New York and three at home against the Blue Jays.
