AFC East: Despite the fact that the Jets had a very strong offseason and made several key additions on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, New York is still most likely the weakest team in the division. Wilson will need some time to develop chemistry with the offense and the team struggled last season against the Dolphins, Patriots and Bills. The only team that the Jets have a chance at competing with in the division is New England.

Tough Matchups: The Jets’ objective is to get better and improve the team with new staff and coaches. The games that stand out as being most difficult take place in Week 4, Week 9, Week 10, Week 14 and Week 17. The biggest ones are against the Bills, Saints, Colts and Bucs. The Jets will need a miracle to overcome the reigning AFC East division champion in the Bills. Buffalo will easily dispatch the Jets who are in rebuilding mode. The same reasoning applies to the aforementioned weeks of difficult opponents.

Besides the tough matchups, one of the exciting games for Jets fans has to be their Week 15 matchup with Jacksonville. The Jaguars drafted quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first pick. Last season, the Jets and the Jaguars were in a heated race to earn the rights for the first pick, but the Jaguars earned it after the Jets upset the Browns. The Jacksonville game will feature a battle between the first pick and the second pick, both of which are quarterbacks. It is a game that will be fun to watch.

Overall: The Jets’ schedule is in the middle in terms of strength. New York has a mix of difficult opponents and some easy. Regardless, New York has some fun games in store for fans.

Prediction: Last place in the AFC East (6-11)
